Outdoor Bar Attendant

Department: Food and Beverage
Location: Harbor Springs, MI

The Outdoor Bar Attendant is responsible for providing friendly, efficient, and compliant service to guests purchasing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from an outdoor bar or service station. This role includes preparing beverages, processing transactions, verifying identification, maintaining a clean and organized service area, and ensuring compliance with all local and state alcohol service regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and company standards.
  • Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws.
  • Package beverages appropriately for to-go consumption in accordance with local regulations.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked outdoor bar area.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock items.
  • Ensure all equipment, supplies, and service areas are sanitized and maintained according to health and safety standards.
  • Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service practices and refuse service when necessary.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and daily setup/breakdown procedures.
  • Support team members and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Must meet minimum legal age requirements for alcohol service.
  • Previous experience in bartending, beverage service, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
  • Alcohol service certification (such as TIPS or equivalent) preferred or required based on local regulations.
  • Basic math and cash-handling skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain professional when handling difficult situations.
