Cook-Drummond Island Resort

Become part of the team at Drummond Island Resort & Conference Center - one of Michigan’s most unique destination resorts. Our 2,200-acre waterfront property features a 40-room log Lodge, a collection of spacious and luxurious waterfront cabins, championship golf at The Rock, The Ridge Off-Road & 4x4 Park, sporting clays, paintball, marina services, trail systems, and a wide range of outdoor recreation experiences.

At the heart of the resort are our vibrant Food & Beverage operations, including Pins Bar & Grill, our lively and casual gathering place, and Bayside Dining, our signature waterfront restaurant and banquet venue hosting weddings, group events, and special celebrations throughout the season. With multiple outlets, events, and high guest interaction, our F&B team plays a key role in delivering memorable island experiences.

We are currently seeking seasonal full-time and part-time, driven, hardworking, and dependable team members. This is a seasonal opportunity with positions available May through mid-October 2026. Limited housing is available.

Tasks expected:

  • Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes indicated by recipes
  • Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by the chef’s standards
  • Set up and clean workstation according to restaurant procedures. Restocking ingredients at workstation and meeting prep time standards to ensure smooth service.
  • Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients and products
  • Clean and Maintain workstation, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves.
  • Adhere to all relevant health department rules/ regulations and all customer service guidelines
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or executive chef
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift. Carry up to 50lbs short distances

Skills Preferred, but not required

  • One year of experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Basic knowledge of cooking methods and basic knife handling skills
  • Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner with accuracy
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Cooperate and communicate with all servers and kitchen staff
